Does my dogs really need wheelchairs?
It’s never too early to get your dog a wheelchair. If your dog is stumbling, losing their balance or tiring easily it’s time to consider a wheelchair. It’s true that many wheelchair dogs are paralyzed or suffered a traumatic injury but, that’s not the case with every dog. Many wheelchair dogs still walk on all four paws and even stand on their own. We provide support, allowing your dog to stand upright and get the exercise they so desperately need. Even dogs that can still move their back legs, benefit from using a wheelchair!

Can a dog poop in a wheelchair?
Yes. Every wheelchair dog owner use is made to allow easier day to day life for a dog with hampered mobility and pooping is one important consideration.
How do you measure a dog for a wheelchair?
For the hind legs, lay your dog on the side and measure the length from where its body meets its thigh to the paw with the leg having the natural bend it has when upright. To measure the front limbs, lay your dog on the side and repeat the same process as for the hind legs. Ensure you measure the front for where the chest meets the back of the front legs. In the case of a wheelchair requiring a hip size, measure the width of the dog standing upright from left to right.
What is degenerative myelopathy in dogs?
Degenerative Myelopathy is a disease of the spinal that progresses slowly as the dog ages. Typically has a start at about 8 to 14 years and symptoms include decreased coordination of hind legs, ataxia, which manifests as wobbling and shaking of hind legs.
Does a 3-legged dog need a wheelchair?
This is dependent on the health status of the three legs. Consult a vet first before deciding what to do. If they are all healthy and strong then your dog can go about without the weight of the cart slowing them down. It also depends on which leg is missing, if the dog is short and is missing a front limb them mobility up steps can be difficult and a wheelchair may be necessary.

Excellent wheelchair if you can put it together. It took over a hour to figure it out. The manual is useless. But once together its a great wheelchair. My dog loves it and can now get around much better. Would recommend it if you are skilled enough to put together.

Which limits mobility in her back legs. She doesn’t need to use the feet cradles so I can’t speak on that part. We made a couple small modifications. The rubber covers for the end of the rods fell off too easily. We wrapped Medical wrap around the ends instead. We also found it a nuisance to adjust the strap that connects the two leg loops, as the strap would end up covering her vagina, which caused a UTI. We cut the strap completely off and replaced with medical wrap so it stays in one place. The straps on the harness that hold the rods are not a seamless system. We’re brainstorming how to modify those to make it easier for the rods to be connected easier.
Overall a good product to help our baby live a better quality life. Our vet gave it a thumbs up too.

I bought this for my 14 yo three legged arthritic Shelly. I wanted this to work, but she absolutely was scared of it.i think for a younger more mobile dog it would be so different. I guess I am back to carrying her out and carrying her in....

It’s easier to assemble if you have more than one person. Great product and allowed my doggo to walk for the first time in 3 weeks! Easily adjustable as well and the wheels turn incredibly smoothly.

I LOVED this , unfortunately my 11year old Pug that it’s was purchased for is too far along for this to be beneficial for him. The ease of setup on this and the item as a whole was perfect, I just wished he had the front end strength to pull himself along and hold himself up. Sadly I am having to return this item, I was looking forward to dressing him up as a chariot for Halloween. I do feel that it is more than helpful for dogs to give them a longer and productive life. Thank you again!!

This was sooo much better than what I was expecting after reading some of the reviews. I feel like some people must not know exactly how this device works. One said it wasn't wide enough for their dog, but it can adjust it to go wider or thinner if needed. I grabbed the S size for my mini Dachshund and it was perfect. Also, some people wrote they had a hard time getting their dog into this item, but there are several ways you can do it, and I definitely wouldn't fault the device for a difficult dog. Anyway, I suspect most people are trying to drop their dogs rear legs into the the holders, but they can actually be detached. The same goes for the front harness. So if your dog is difficult (which I'm sure most dogs are a little apprehensive the first few times, I would recommend just putting the harness on, then attaching the harness to the frame, and then putting on the rear leg support and attaching it to the frame (this sounds more complicated than it really is). The overall point is that it is well put together, highly adjustable for size, and can use a couple different methods to get your dog into it. It did take some trial and error before I figured out what worked best for my dog, but once he was in it, he was walking around pretty quickly. I think it's definitely worth the money and has made a big difference!
